My thoughts on the NBA Action Last night: The Heat looked good, Allen and Lewis are going to be big additions for them. The Celtics need to focus more on playing good basketball and not being mad at Ray Allen for leaving. But that rivalry is epic.
The Cavs have a bright future ahead of them, the young backcourt of Irving and Waiters has so much potential, as long as the two of them leave their ego’s out of the way, they can flourish.
The Wizards played hard and showed ok, even without John Wall, Nene and Kevin Seraphin. Once the 3 of them return, I see good things. The team is much improved defensively as well.
The Lakers: I’m a fan, but I don’t allow it to cloud my judgement. Steve Nash was a liability last night, allowing the mavericks pg’s to score 28 points and dish out 9 dimes. Dwight Howard had 19 points and 10 rebounds, but shot just 3-14 from the foul line. The Lakers as a team were a putrid 12-31 from the line and Kobe Bryant didn’t attempt a free throw at all. This Laker team has a long way to go before I crown them as the best team in the West or the favorite to come of out the West and make the finals.
The Dallas Mavs came to play last night and took full advantage of Steve Nash’s inability to stay in front of the opposition and they didn’t allow any easy layups for Dwight Howard, forcing him to make free throws, which he didn’t. This team has new parts, but the are still sound defensively and when be a tough team once Dirk and Chris Kaman is back.
I’m looking forward to a full sled of NBA games tonight! Enjoy and be sure to checkout my site and follow me on twitter @BrandonOnSports for all sports updates and thoughts!
