Well the college basketball season is in full effect and me being the NCAA hoops head that I am, have been following these players since they were in the 10th or 11th grade in high school and now as they are in college. I grade and rank prospects on size, athleticism, skills, potential, and ability to translate to the NBA game. Here is my current top ten players in college basketball:
.Harrison Barnes 6-8 225 SF North Carolina So. : Very skilled and polished for a player his age. Perfect size for a NBA 3 man. Can score from anywhere on the court.
.Jared Sullinger 6-8 270 PF Ohio State So. : Is undersized and doesn’t play over the rim, but neither does Kevin Love. Career 15 ppg and 10 rpg type of potential.
.Perry Jones 6-11 235 SF/PF Baylor So. : Has great ball skills for a player his size. Can post smaller players and take bigs off the bounce at will.
.Jeremy Lamb 6-5 185 SG UConn So. : Reminds me of Kerry Kittles and Eddie Jones. His offensive game is coming around, but he is a vicious man defender.
.Quincy Miller 6-9 215 SF Baylor Fr. : Has perfect size for the small forward position and can really shoot the three. Outstanding athlete. Worlds of potential.
.Andre Drummond 6-10 270 PF/C UConn Fr. : Is very raw, but is a damn freak show. Just youtube his midnight madness dunks and you see the Dwight Howard type athleticism I’m talking about.
.Terrence Jones 6-9 244 SF/PF Kentucky So. : Made a great choice coming back to school for another year. Is a great athlete, nice shooter for his size. Will be a hybrid forward in the NBA. Needs to develop more moves with his back to the basket and a right hand though.
.Marquis Teague 6-3 190 PG Kentucky Fr. : Has the size, speed, and explosion anyone wants in a stud PG. Is young and makes mistakes with the ball, but his ceiling is as high as any other prospect.
.Anthony Davis 6-10 PF/SF Kentucky Fr. : Was a 6 ft point guard at the end of his 10th grade year of school and has grown ten inches since then and is a very skilled forward. Can do it all on the court but needs to seriously add strength.
.Austin Rivers 6-4 SG Duke Fr. : Has the bloodline obviously, but he isn’t living off of his father’s name like Larry Drew Jr. did when he ended up at UNC. He has the ability to get anywhere and get any shot he wants. Scores in bunches and is a fearless competitor. Needs to learn to play some one. Jamal Crawford like potential.
