Penn State assistant coach Mike McQueary was placed on administrative leave after receiving multiple death threats since it came out that he would retain his job for the time being. School President Rodney Erickson, along with acting athletic director Mark Shurburne jointly made the decision and informed McQueary today. “It became clear that coach McQueary could not function in this role under these circumstances,” Erickson said. McQueary’s presence would obviously be a safety risk to himself and others, while being a complete distraction. Penn State officials stated that they have increased security greatly for Saturday’s game against Nebraska.
