Markieff Morris PF
21 years old, Junior
2011 stats: 38 games, 13.6 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.1 bpg, 59% fg, 42% 3pt fg
Prediction: mid-first round
Strengths: Has made great progress in his overall game in his three years at Kansas and has turned himself into a 1st round draft pick while doing it. Very good rebounder and defender in the paint, uses his body well to gain position on the O-boards and finish. Has good range on his jump shot and hit 42% of the shots he took from the college 3pt line. He reminds me of a Kurt Thomas kind of player, who could come in and play good minutes, and do the grimey work a team needs.
Weaknesses: Is still sort of raw in the post on offense, doesn’t have a medley of moves that he can go to. Needs to work on a face up game to add to his repertoire as well. He is what he is, not much room or potential in my eyes. But he will be one of those guys in stays in the starting lineup or rotation on a NBA team(like a Udonis Haslem).
