Marcus Morris SF/PF
21 years old/ Junior
2011 stats: 38 games 17.2 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 57% FG, 34% 3pt fg
Prediction: Should go somewhere between 9th and 11th
Strengths: Has a very versatile game, can play with his back to the basket or he can face the basket and drive. Had a breakout season as a junior after being a rotation player his first two seasons at Kansas. Has a pretty good post game, going over both shoulders for little jump hooks and moves off of the drop step. Has a nice mid-range jumpshot as well. Is a good offensive rebounder and plays with that tough Philly style that will fit well in the NBA. Should be able to step right in and play.
Weaknesses: At 6’8 he really doesn’t have the long arms like a lot of players his size. He is an effective player, but not the most explosive or athletic guy on the court. He is a bit of a tweener and I don’t see a lot of growth or superstar potential once he gets to the NBA. If you expect him to blossom into a superstar then you will be disappointed.
