Alec Burks SG/PG
19 years old, Sophomore
6′ 6″ 200lbs.
2011 stats: 38 games 20.5 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 3.0 apg, 47% FG, 82% FT, 29% 3pt FG
Prediction: Between ten and late lottery
Strengths: Alec Burks is a long, lean, explosive shooting guard with NBA type size for the 2-Guard position. He is very good with the ball going to the basket with the ability to finish with both hands in traffic. He is also good in pick and roll situations and makes good decisions with the basketball. He is a underrated playmaker and he gets to the line frequently(about 8 times per game) and makes a high percentage(82%. He turns 20 years old in July and has loads of potential to be tapped.
Weaknesses: Needs to add weight and strength to his frame. He’s only 19 going on 20 so he should be able to add another 15-20lbs of muscle to his frame. He also needs to work on his outside shot. He has great form and I believe the reason why he shot so poorly from the college three point line was due to the fact he was replied on heavily and took plenty of bad, uncontested shots. I also would like to see more effort on defense, he has the ability to be a lock down defender at the next level.
