6’3″ 1/2 191 lbs
2011 stats: 11 games 17.5 ppg, 4.3 apg , 3.4 rpg, 53%fg, 90%FT, 46% 3pt FG
Prediction: Top 3 Pick-Cleveland could draft Derrick Williams #1 and then take a PG at #4
Strengths: Kyrie Irving before he injured his right toe, had played 11 games of college basketball and was clearly the best NBA prospect in college basketball. He has great size for his position, to go along with the ability to get wherever he wants, whenever he wants on the court. He can really shoot the ball well from distance and is a great foul shooter. He makes his teammates better as well, before his injury Duke was the favorite to repeat as champs and maybe even run the table. He has a very good handle and is very slick with the ball.
Weaknesses: Coming off a toe injury and he didn’t workout at the NBA Draft Combine and people are wondering what he has to hide. He also weighed in at 191 lbs with a body fat percentage of 10.2 and teams may be wondering if he was able to workout since the season ended and if he was then what happened. People think he’s not that explosive but they are comparing him to the likes of Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook who are freaks at the PG that the league has never seen.
