Espn’s Chris Ford is reporting that a source close to Doug Collins is saying the Sixers are learning towards Georgia Tech’s Derrick Favors with the number 2 pick. I like Turner and Favors both, they are saying that Turner doesn’t fit well with Andre Iguodala.Well it’s time to move Iggy then and draft Turner. He’s a sure shot to be a solid pro and a good piece on a winning team. Drafting Favors is like going for the home run,I think 10 yrs from now that he will be the best player in this draft. Favors is a top line athlete, very explosive in the paint, has some solid moves in the post, and is good on the boards. His stock has risen with me and a lot of NBA GM”s after he measured out at 6’10 1/2 with a 7’5 wingspan, I thought he was shorter then that and I believe he could play center in the NBA. When you look at Evan Turner the first thing that sticks out to me is his basketball IQ, while not being the quickest or most explosive athlete Evan Turner uses angles, hesitation moves and his body to get where he wants on the court. He also does well at setting his teammates up and rebounding the basketball, he played the point this year for his team but don’t expect him to play the point exclusively in the NBA. However you could run the offense through him at times and post him up also. Bottom line is at this point, Ed Stafanski has screwed this franchise up enough and his job is on the line. If I were him I would draft the sure thing: Evan Turner.
Favors or Turner?????
