After being down 3-0 in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Orlando Magic have won two straight games and swung the momentum back in there direction. Dwight Howard has dominated the paint in those games, averaging 26 ppg, 13 rebounds, and 4.5 bpg. Jeff Van Gundy make a good adjustment of the offensive end, running more pick and roll with Jameer Nelson and Howard, which has their offense moving the ball much better. They are starting to get more open 3 point shots, which is their cup of tea on the offensive end of the floor. The Celtics have been looking real old over the last two games, especially Kevin Garnett averaging 12 ppg and 7 rpg. He has been a step slow on defensive rotations, not a factor on the boards, to me it looks as though he might me bothered by his knee again. As I’ve said in the past, as Rondo goes, so will the Celtics. It’s not hard to see he’s the best player on the team, Rajon Rondo needs to carry this team on both ends of the court. Kendrick Perkins received two technical fouls in game 5 which might lead to his suspension in game 6. They were both brutal calls by the refs who need to just ref the game and not decide the fate of the series. The series goes back to Boston for game 6 on friday. Who will win???? I don’t know for sure, but I know the celtics might be down two big men (Big Baby Davis and Perkins), so I see this series going to seven.
My thoughts on last nights Magic-Celtics game and the series.
