The Flyers got an early power play goal by Braden Coburn three minutes and 55 seconds into the game, his first goal in 60 games and the rout was on. The Flyers were clearly the more physical team, making their home in front of the net in the Canadiens zone. By the end of the 2nd period they had a four goal lead due to goals from van Riemsdyk, Briere, and Gagne. The Canadiens goalie Jaroslav Halak lasted only 9:53 into the second period, stopping 10 of the 14 shots he had seen. He was replaced by Carey Price who allowed 3rd period goals by Scott Hartnell and Claude Giroux. Look for the Fly Boys to continue their physical play and crisp puck movement in game 2 tuesday night. For the Canadiens, dont expect another horrible game from Halak like in game one and expect a more physical game from them as well. If not, this series won’t make it past 4 or 5 games.
