The Boston Celtics took game one of the Eastern Conference Finals, defeating the Orlando Magic 92-88. The Celtics, who led by as much as 20 points during the 3rd quarter, held on after a late run by the Magic late in the 4th quarter. Ray Allen (25 points) and Paul Peirce (22 points) led the Celtics to victory, while Rasheed Wallace and 13 points and solid defense on Dwight Howard off the bench. Howard had a hard time on offense today scoring 13 points on 3-10 shooting and 7-12 from the free throw line. The Celtics played him physical, throwing numerous defenders at him and not allowing him any easy layups or dunks. Vince Carter (23 points) and Jameer Nelson (20 points, 9 rebounds) led the Magic. Game 2 is Tuesday night at 8:30, with the NBA Draft lottery before the game at 8pm.
